The programme consists of seven units including: Health and Safety, Working Relationships, Foundation Skills and Operating Principles of most systems. You will carry out assessed workshop tasks and classroom sessions to develop your underpinning knowledge. You will be assessed by written question papers, oral questioning, small assignments and online assessments with the IMIAL.
As part of your programme you will also complete Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT at the correct level for your programme. You may also complete the wider key skills: Working With Others and Improving Own Learning & Performance.

About this course
You will attend full-time three days per week for 36 weeks (less public holidays). You will be allocated a tutor who will provide support and guidance and give regular feedback on the progress you are making. You will need to supply overalls and safety boots for workshop sessions and pen, pencils and writing paper for classroom sessions.

Course programme
At the end of the programme, you will achieve a Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Fitting Principles. You will also achieve Functional Skills. These are the core elements of English, Mathematics and ICT that provide an individual with the essential knowledge, skills and understanding that will enable them to operate confidently, effectively and independently in life and at work.
You will develop your skills through a mixture of lessons, demonstrations, assignments and practical tasks in the College's industry-standard automotive workshops and classrooms. To successfully achieve you must complete all units in the qualification, including all assessments (practical and theory) to a satisfactory level. Maximum attendance is required.
