This course has been developed to meet the needs of the Care Sector. The qualification underpins the knowledge and understanding required to work in a range of care settings.

Time will be spent in college and on practical work placement. Learners wishing to move into employment within the Care Sector have the opportunity to undertake QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care as part of this programme (an additional 9 months of study).

You will require 4 GCSEs at grades A*- D, including Maths and English/Welsh, or complete of a full relevant vocational programme at Level 1 which must include GCSE Maths and English/Welsh at grades A*-D or equivalent such as Level 1 ESW Communications and Application of Number. Plus satisfactory references

You must have satisfactory clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service. You will be invited to attend an interview and you will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy to establish any support required. Applicants with appropriate experience, who do not necessarily meet the academic qualifications, may be considered.
