The course aims to extend the topics covered at GCSE and introduce new ideas such as calculus. Students will study 2 Mathematics modules and 1 Applied module, Decision Mathematics, for AS level and then an additional 2 Pure Mathematics modules and 1 Applied module in either Statistics or Mechanics, depending on student preference and timetabling constraints, for an A level. Suitable for: Students with grade C and above at GCSE Higher Level, though a minimum grade B is desirable. A minimum of a grade C in English is also required. Students will be required to perform sufficiently well in an algebra exam after four weeks to be allowed to continue with the course. Some students, in addition, may be required to add the Foundation of Advanced Mathematics course to their timetables.

Who is the course for?
