Description

The Award in English for Literacy and Language teaching is an accredited self paced Level 3 online course suitable for those looking to develop their understanding of the English language, including spoken and written English, particularly with a view to applying these skills in the teaching of literacy and language. During the course you will be assigned a tutor to guide and support you.

There are four units, each worth 3 credits and all four units must completed to achieve the qualification. Under each unit there is the course guides and notes and some practice areas before you proceed to the assignments. Most of the assignments use the method of written assignments, however for one of the assignments you will need to arrange a time for a discussion over Skype.

Unit 1: Analysing English language for literacy and language teaching
Unit 2: Reading skills for literacy and language teaching
Unit 3: Speaking and listening skills for literacy and language teaching
Unit 4: Writing skills for literacy and language teaching

All assignments are uploaded to the Moodle site, this is a straight forward process, but we also provide guides or you can call us for assistance if required.

- At least 16 years old - Working at Level 2 in English and Mathematics - Basic ICT skills (the course is online using our Moodle site, the level of skill set is just basic Microsoft office and able to upload attachments)
