About the course
The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering has a work related focus and is broadly equivalent to 3 A Levels.
The course consists of mandatory and pre-selected optional units which have a credit value and reflect the modern engineering industry.
Students must achieve an overall minimum of 180 credits to achieve a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering. Successful students will be awarded an overall triple grade e.g. DDD, DMM, MM, PPP based on points boundaries.

Entry requirements
5 GCSE grades A* to C to include English Language, Higher Mathematics and Science as three of the subjects. References and a successful interview will also be required.

Successful students will be awarded an overall triple grade e.g. DDD, DMM MMP based on points boundaries. Functional Skills Functional skills are practical skills in English, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Mathematics that allow individuals to work confidently, effectively and independently in life. The Programme Manager for each area will discuss the most appropriate Functional Skill for each student. On Completion On completion, students will leave the College with a broad portfolio of qualifications that will prepare them for employment at a technician level and an advanced Apprenticeship, or to Higher Education and a vocational Degree programme.
