The BTEC Certificate is a 1-year practical work related course introducing the skills needed to work as a makeup trainee for the media industry. Learning is achieved by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations.


You will be designing and producing the makeup and hair for particular characters in productions. Working on 'live' theatrical productions enables you to produce work towards a professional portfolio. It is the equivalent of an AS Level.


You will require at least one of the following: A BTEC First Diploma in a related subject or 4 GCSEs at grades A*- C preferably including English and Maths.
