The NCFE CACHE Level 3 Certificate/Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and gain knowledge of children aged up to 7 years. Upon achievement of this qualification learners will be able to enter the workforce with the professional title of Early Years Educator or access Higher Education with the new tariff of 72-168 UCAS points (formally 180-240).
You will study subjects including:
• Child Development from conception to 7 years
• Children's health and well-being
• Safe environments for children
• Play and learning for school readiness
• Understanding children's additional needs
• Observation assessment and planning
• Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
This programme includes experience within a real work environment which is an integral part of the course and takes place in an Early Years setting for a minimum of 2 days per week.

Course programme
Employment as a professional Early Years Educator, classroom learning support assistant, nanny, child-minder, or playworker, or progress to Higher Education studying subject areas such as Early Year teaching and social work, or a Degree of your choice. You can also consider joining our Part-Time Foundation Degree in Early Years Playwork and Education.
You will need 4 GCESs at grade 9-4 (A*-C) or above, including English or Maths
OR
Successful completion of a full Level 2 Certificate in Introduction to Early Years Education & Care, or Health & Social Care.
In additional to the entry qualifications listed, the offer of a place on the course is subject to the outcomes of initial assessment, which will be taken at the College as part of the admissions process. Please note that entry criteria may vary quite significantly between courses at the same level. This is to take account of the specific skills needed for success on particular courses, the length of the course and the requirements for progression to the next level. Entry criteria are given as a guide, and the exact requirements in order to obtain a place on a particular course will be confirmed following attendance at a Welcome Event/Interview.
