This course offers you the opportunity to study the theoretical and practical aspects of laboratory science. The course provides a broad base for those wishing to study science and prepare for a career in science or progression to higher education to undertake a degree level course.

It is also relevant to assistant and practising technicians who want to enhance their skills experience and knowledge. Alongside this course you will also study the Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate, which is equivalent to 1 A level.

You will require 5 GCSEs at grades A*- C including English, Maths and at least one Science subject, or a Level 2 Diploma in Applied Science at distinction level, or recent, relevant experience.

You will be invited to attend an interview, and will undertake an assessment in literacy and numeracy, to establish any support required. Applicants with appropriate experience, who do not necessarily meet the academic qualifications, may be considered.
