ages 16+

You need to have a good level of English – written and spoken, & also level 2 numeracy or equivalent to enable you to sit the exam. You will be assessed on your literacy & numeracy on enrolment & be guided into acquiring the level needed if necessary. You may need to visit another training provider (Alliance Learning) to undergo this assessment. You also need to be working in a dental practice with a dentist willing to supervise your work.

Courses start throughout the year

This is the dental nursing course which leads to the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing (4234-31/93). On completion of this course, portfolio and successful completion of the exam you will be able to register with the GDC as a Dental Care Professional.

You have to be working as a dental nurse to do this course. If not, you would have to find a job as a trainee where you are working in surgery for at least 30 hours a week.

Courses start throughout the year, 15-18 months in length. (Apprenticeship to start in September).

The course follows the syllabus set out by City & Guilds & will give you the necessary knowledge and expertise to enter for the Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing exam.
