Level 3 Diploma in Engineering & Technologies

Successful completion of all elements of this study programme will allow you to progress in several different ways, including;

• A further full or part time study programme depending on GCSE results
• Gaining of employment within the Engineering industry at technician level
• An advanced apprenticeship scheme in Engineering

This course is advanced and thus is not suitable for school leavers. Cambridge Regional College internal applicants

You must have successfully completed a Level 2 Diploma in Engineering & Technology course, together with a minimum of Level 1 Functional Skills in Maths and English. Applicants will also need to participate in a successful interview. Two of the course units are coupled with formal examinations.

Learners aged 19 or over will be required to pay course fees.

In addition to the entry qualifications listed, the offer of a place on the course is subject to the outcomes of initial assessment, which will be taken at the College as part of the admissions process. Please note that entry criteria may vary quite significantly between courses at the same level. This is to take account of the specific skills needed for success on particular courses, the length of the course and the requirements for progression to the next level. Entry criteria are given as a guide, and the exact requirements in order to obtain a place on a particular course will be confirmed following attendance at a Welcome Event/Interview.

We want you to achieve to the very best of your ability at CRC. To make this happen we offer both learning and personal support by specialist staff tailored to meet your specific needs.

Assessment will take place via assignments set throughout the year and practical skills tasks. Each unit studied (8) will have set assignments and set practical work. Assignments will carry success criteria of Pass and Fail grades.

You will have tutor support throughout your study programme and one to one tutor support and guidance as needed of 20 minutes every 6 weeks. You will also contribute to your own support using the college's Electronic Individual Learner Plan. This will also help you build your own "Passport to Success" documentation.
