About this course

The aim of the course is to equip prospective practitioners with a thorough and professional grounding in both practical and theoretical knowledge, and to equip them with all the skills necessary to become gifted and versatile health professionals.

This course complies with the Aromatherapy Council Core Curriculum and National Occupational Standards. It is accredited by the AOR.

Learners who have already completed the Gaia AromaReflex course

You must be over 18, and have sufficient ability to be able to measure and make products from raw materials.
You must have regular access to email, the Internet and word-processing and printing facilities.
You must have the interest, energy, enthusiasm (and time!) necessary to complete the course.

This course is aimed at qualified Reflexologists (or other therapists) wishing to incorporate a further complementary therapy into their portfolio of skills and is delivered by Gaia School of Natural Health a well-respected Private training school of Complementary therapies.

You will study 28 essential oils within this course. The standard syllabus for a Level 3 qualification is 42 essential oils. Essential oil practitioners are only insured to use oils they have been trained in using. Therefore the inclusion of 28 oils in this course will extend the range that you will be able to use with your clients.

BSc MA MSc MAR PRM Qualified reflexologist and aromatherapist. Principal of Gaia School of Natural Health Carolyn is also a Reiki Master Teacher, and holds a Certificate in Crystal Healing. Carolyn is a member of the Association of Reflexologists, Professional Reflexology, Reiki Federation and Association of Reproductive Reflexologists.

Course programme

This advanced course will build on the learning from the Gaia AromaReflex course and extend your knowledge and skills in using essential oils safely and effectively in reflexology. The course will cover:

  • Therapeutic uses of 28 further essential oils, covering physical, emotional, mental and spiritual issues, and full safety advice. Together with your 12 oils from the first course you will have covered 40 essential oils in total, which is equivalent to what would be covered during a standard Level 3 Aromatherapy Diploma.
  • How to make essential oil products for your clients: including “Good Manufacturing Practice” legal requirements, how to make your own reflexology wax from raw ingredients, making an essential oil room spray, roller ball and sniffy sticks etc.
  • Further guidance on blending the oils into synergistic blends. Essential oil focus will cover the following areas: musculoskeletal, reproductive and endocrine, emotions e.g. anxiety, palliative and cancer care and working with the subtle energy of essential oils.
  • Essential oil blend recommendations for working with a variety of foot conditions e.g. plantar fasciitis.

Training includes 2 full days of live online zoom classes, in small groups (maximum of 6 participants) with the tutor, videos of product making and marking of post course case studies. Successful completion of the case studies is required before the final certificate is awarded. On-going support is available from the tutor and via the closed Facebook group.

Number of case studies required: 10 treatments

Total Guided Learning Hours required: 51 hours, including 12 contact hours, home study, and your case studies.
