Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Policing

The Pearson BTEC Level 4 HNC in Policing will provide students with the generic knowledge, understanding and skills to enter employment within Policing. or progression onto the BTEC Level 5 in Policing.

- a BTEC Level 3 qualification in Public Services. Sport, Forensic and Criminal Investigation or related title.
- a GCE Advanced Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one subject.
- GCSE grades A* to C (or equivalent), and/or 9 to 4 (or equivalent) in subjects such as maths and English
- other related Level 3 qualifications
- an Access to Higher Education Certificate awarded by an approved further education institution
- related work experience
- an international equivalent of the above
- A demonstrable interest in joining the police or related services

In addition to the entry qualifications listed, the offer of a place on the course is subject to the outcomes of initial assessment, which will be taken at the College as part of the admissions process. Please note that entry criteria may vary quite significantly between courses at the same level. This is to take account of the specific skills needed for success on particular courses, the length of the course and the requirements for progression to the next level. Entry criteria are given as a guide, and the exact requirements in order to obtain a place on a particular course will be confirmed following attendance at a professional interview.

Each project, activity or assignment that you complete will be assessed. These assessments indicate your level of performance and contribute to your final grade. Each unit is graded Pass, Merit or Distinction. Assessment will be through practical and theoretical assignments.
