The level 5 Diplomas in Leadership in Health and Social Care Services (Wales and Northern Ireland) are the replacement qualifications for current vocational provision including NVQ level 4 in Health and Social Care (HSC) and NVQ 4 in Leadership and Management for Care Services (LMCS). The Diplomas are for use in Wales and Northern Ireland. Which qualification is for me? Adults' Residential Management: This is for managers, deputy managers and assistant managers who work with adults in a residential setting whose main purpose is adults in care and support. Adults' Advanced Practice: This is for senior practitioners, deputy managers and assistant managers who work with adults in settings or services whose main purpose is adults in care and support. Adults' Management: This is for managers, deputy managers and assistant managers who work with adults in non-residential settings or services whose main purpose is adults as care and support. Children and Young People as Advanced Practice: This is for senior practitioners, deputy managers and assistant managers who work with children and young people in settings or services whose main purpose is children as care. Children and Young People as Management: This is for managers, deputy managers and assistant managers who work with children and young people in non-residential settings or services whose main purpose is children and young people care. Children and Young Peopleâs Residential Management: This is for managers, deputy managers and assistant managers who work with children and young people in residential settings. About this course

Learners should be currently working within or towards a management role in health and social care and hold relevant qualifications at level 3. Contact the Faculty for specific enquiries.

Additional information

The learner must achieve all the specified learning outcomes and satisfy all the assessment criteria by providing sufficient and valid evidence for each criteria in a portfolio.

The award will be assessed by a college based assessor using a variety of different methods including direct observation in the workplace, written reflective accounts, professional discussion, questions and answers, expert witness testimony and evidence of recognition of prior learning.
