AS Level Drama and Theatre Studies

Who is this course for?
If you have an interest in drama, performing and the study of plays then this is the course for you. You do not need to have any previous experience to join this course just enthusiasm, good communication skills, and the ability to have fun.

What will I learn?
Unit 1 - this unit introduces you to the content of two plays written for theatre. You will learn how to analyse plays in a variety of different ways so that you can become familiar with the way written plays can be interpreted for realism in performance.Unit 2 - this unit will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your performance skills and the workshops will help you in the delivery of your performance. You will be expected to take part in a group performance, and a monologue or duologue fit for performance.

Assessment
You will be assessed in a variety of different ways through observations, your commitment to the group, your input, as well as the actual performance. You will be expected to produce course work. There is no actual written exam.

On Completion Achievement / Progression
You can progress on to degree level courses in university or specialist colleges of drama.
