The course aims to provide students in practice, or those progressing from level three, with good underpinning knowledge and understanding of health and social care. This links to underpinning values and practice, as well as some detailed subject knowledge. The programme has a combination of core and optional units which provide a wide knowledge base for those wishing to progress in either health or the social care sector. There is a requirement to undertake 200 practice hours, either in the workplace or on placement.
