The Welsh Baccalaureate Diploma is an overarching qualification and combines a range of qualifications linked to the A level course. It is welcomed by employers as it gives you additional skills, experience and confidence. The qualification is welcomed by many UK universities. It offers broader learning experiences than traditional learning programmes and is suited to the diverse needs of young people.

What will I learn?
To achieve a Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Diploma you might typically combine two or three A levels within the advanced core programme. The advanced core programme core certificate attracts 120 UCAS points as part of the advanced diploma.The core programme comprises of: key skills - you will develop transferrable key skills through the other components which are: Wales, Europe and the World - a chance to learn more about Wales' relationship with Europe and the World. This is also a language module. Work-Related Education - includes working with an employer and taking part in a team enterprise activity. Personal and Social Education - helps you explore issues in the modern world such as family, health, relationships, citizenship and includes an activity in the local community. Individual Investigation - an opportunity to carry out a research project in an area that is of interest to you.A level options include art and design, biology, chemistry, drama and theatre studies, English literature, film studies, graphic design, history, ICT, law, maths, media studies, photography, psychology, sociology and spanish.

Assessment
This will depend on the A level options you have chosen and the examination board requirements. The Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Diploma is awarded by WJEC.

On Completion Achievement / Progression
The successful completion of two or three A levels offers the opportunity of higher level study or employment in a wide range of areas. You will be able to apply to university to undertake a degree, a LLB or a B.Ed anywhere in the country.
