Why choose this course? As a library and information professional, you will develop the in-depth knowledge of library and information services essential in a profession revitalised by the digital age.    You'll learn high-level skills in the organisation, management and retrieval of information using current and developing technologies.   Forced by the rapid pace of technological change, there are few industries and employment sectors in which information (knowledge) and information systems do not play a major role.  Consequently, graduates with information-based and related skills are at a premium in the marketplace.   The programme has a strong practical component in modern librarianship and equips students with a variety of professionally relevant skills.   Students will gain an understanding of the principles of information science and how these inform the design, implementation and evaluation of library and information services.
