About this course
Prior to training, candidates should ideally have a minimum of six months industrial experience of operating all types of lift trucks and have passed the appropriate operator test. Trainees must be able to produce their respective lift truck operator certificate on arrival. (To be dated within 12 months of course start date). Ideally RTITB or ITSSAR accredited.

Van Hee currently provides training and examination facilities to fulfil the ITSSAR requirements for the training, examination and registration of lift truck instructor/ examiners. Training will conform to the current Health and Safety Legislation.
The In-house instructor course is ideal for companies who only require FLT's to be operated within their own premises. The licences issued to staff will not be transferable to any other employer.
Instructors will also be limited to training the staff of the company, and again the licence will not be transferable.
Course Contents
In normal circumstances the course will be conducted on a ratio of:
1 Instructor, 1 Lift truck and 6 Trainees and take place over 5 days with examinations on the last day.
During the training the trainee will receive training on the following:
1. Operating a lift truck to the standard required by the JCITB for lift truck instructors.
2. Structuring training material into a logical sequence for teaching knowledge and skills.
3. Adopting an effective style for teaching skills appropriate to the type of truck involved.
4. Adopting an objective and critical approach towards the effectiveness of the instruction they present and an appropriate method of assessment of trainees progress, and the setting up and testing of trainees basic operating skills in accordance with JCITB requirements.
