The Virtual College is an Internet based Distance Learning provider based at Coleg Sir Gar (formerly Carmarthenshire College), South Wales, UK. The Virtual College was set up to deliver courses to students who had difficulty in accessing traditional education and training courses in Wales. The need to provide high quality education remotely, using computer communications technology was identified after thorough market research throughout Wales. All tutors in the college are practising; experienced lecturers and many have written the course materials used. Tutors keep students up to date with news and developments on personal progress as well as developments within the Virtual College on a weekly basis.
