About this course
Master’s degree in a subject relevant to the proposed research, with an average of at least 60% for UK MAs.
2:1 (Hons) degree (UK) or equivalent in Applied Linguistics or a related subject, for example Linguistics, Foreign Languages, Education.

Course programme
Proposals are accepted in a wide range of topics including: language and media, linguistic description and theory, sociolinguistics, applied linguistics, corpus linguistics, critical discourse analysis, language learning and teaching, first and second language acquisition, bilingualism, gender and language, literacy, stylistics, language testing, and pragmatics.
Students will be matched with staff interests to provide strong supervision relationships.
