We all place a high value on our uniqueness as individuals and our independence. We take it as a human right that we should have voice, choice and control over the things that matter in our lives, not only privately and socially, but also within the community. When someone is living with dementia, maintaining their identity this is not necessarily easy, especially when vocabulary and reasoning is increasingly impaired and feelings become more acute and more important. The course addresses the key issues in enabling the person to live well with dementia through the journey and through interactive exercises, games, discussion – and some fun – the learner will consider the needs of the person living with dementia and explore strategies and techniques to enable them to live better. • encourage a sense of purpose in meaningful activities and a sense of achievement when accomplished

  • address a person’s sexual and spiritual needs
  • better acknowledge a person’s thoughts and feelings
