The module enables the student to undertake a detailed study of a clearly defined legal topic, issue or problem. During the research process the student will increase their knowledge of the area and develop a greater critical awareness. Completion of the module will enhance the ability to write academically and to present such findings in an appropriate form.

Upon joining the LLM Professional Practice you will join a thriving postgraduate student body. Upon completion of the course, graduates will possess highly valued academic and research skills as well as a range of transferable skills designed to enhance employability in a law related career; as well as in future research and academia. In addition, we have experienced academic staff with internationally recognised research and publications in a variety of legal areas. We have excellent research facilities both for academic and practitioner lawyers that can be accessed on line. We have a strong framework to support our students throughout the duration of study including providing you with a personal tutor, academic guidance and support and postgraduate study skills to enhance your learning experience.

This programme of study is designed to enhance the employability and promotion prospects of persons in the legal profession wishing to develop specialist knowledge in a bespoke area of law, it will provide you with a set of intellectual and practical skills that will aid your career development.

Holders of this award may also find positions in the field of education and research including continuing their study for a PhD.

These fees relate to new entrants only for the academic year indicated for entry onto the course, any subsequent years study may be subject to an annual increase, usually in line with inflation.

Applicants must have completed the Legal Practice Course, Bar Professional Training Course or the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws in Hong Kong (PCLL) or equivalent Professional Legal Qualification. Alternatively, legal professionals who undertook the former Law Society Final Examinations or Bar Vocational Course are also eligible for the course.

IELTS 6.5, or equivalent for non-UK students.

The University offers a generous 20% Loyalty Discount to students progressing from an undergraduate programme to a taught postgraduate on-site programme, where both courses are University of Wolverhampton Awards.

There is no time limit on how long ago you completed your degree as long as this is your first Masters level qualification.

Self-funded:

If you are paying for the fees yourself then the fees can be paid in 3 instalments: November, January and April. More information can be found by clicking here.

Sponsored - Your employer, embassy or organisation can pay for your Tuition fees:

Your employer, embassy or organisation agrees to pay all or part of your tuition fees; the University will refer to them as your sponsor and will invoice them for the appropriate amount.

We must receive notification of sponsorship in writing as soon as possible, and before enrolment, confirming that the sponsor will pay your tuition fees.

Financial Hardship:

Students can apply to the Dennis Turner Opportunity Fund for help with course related costs however this cannot be used for fees or to cover general living costs.
