Course Overview:
This qualification is primarily aimed at candidates who work or would like to work within the logistics environment. The qualification can be used as the competence based element of the logistics apprenticeship.
There are no exams and the candidate is supported throughout the process with a personal assessor. The courses are structured to meet the needs of the individual. The qualification requires proof of competence across both mandatory and optional units.

Course programme

Course Delivery:

Each qualification is broken down into specific units. There are four mandatory units and a selection of optional units . The choice of optional units is tailored to the candidate’s duties and responsibilities and to meet the specific rules of combination for the level of qualification.

Mandatory units:

  • Health and safety in the workplace
  • Develop effective working relationships
  • Maintain an effective contribution to a business in the logistics sector
  • Contribute to the provision of customer service

Optional units from a selection including:

  • Prepare the van for driving
  • Protect the van and load
  • Prepare the articulated vehicle for driving
  • Protect the articulated vehicle and load
  • Obtain information on the collection/delivery of the load
  • Place goods in storage
  • Release vehicles for daily tasks
  • Monitor vehicle movements

With the support of your assessor you will undertake work based assessments, such as observations, witness testimonies, case studies, statements and work based evidence.
