Description

The London College of International Business Studies (LCIBS) is an independent college specialising exclusively in practical business training for career-minded international students. Established in 1994 and based in Holborn in Central London, the college provides courses in international business management, business finance and administration, international marketing, public relations and marketing communications.

The College courses have various start dates throughout the year, full-time and part-time study options and a wide range of course lengths (from three to 18 months). In consultation with the admissions office, students may also tailor-make their own programme selecting the subjects of most interest and benefit to them. The College is accredited by the British Accreditation Council for Independent Further & Higher Education (BAC).

The average age of students at the College is 26 and they have a variety of backgrounds. Many are non-business graduates needing career-oriented business training to familiarise themselves with business practice and complement their degree; a smaller number are business graduates needing further training in a new area of business in a professional English-speaking environment. The College also accepts enrolments from visiting undergraduates from overseas taking time out from their degree studies in order to study in London and complete a career-oriented business course, as well as from business and non-business graduates wishing to complete an LCIBS programme in preparation for postgraduate study in the UK in a business related area.

LCIBS courses also appeal to working business people who would like to broaden their knowledge. Experienced professionals taking a career break to update or develop their skills study at the College, as do working professionals, based in London, who combine their studies with full- or part-time jobs. The College also considers applications from school-leavers with the commitment and maturity required to complete an LCIBS programme and who wish to study at LCIBS in preparation for a university education in the UK, or, occasionally, as an alternative to studying at university.
