What I would highlight:
I think the course provides a fantastic overview of publishing and a great refresher for those who have been working within publishing for several years but have used their copy-editing or proofreading skills for a while.
What could be improved:
It is difficult to assess this as the trainers had different teaching skills.

What I would highlight:
It gave a great idea of what copy-editing is about and what the BAI is. Alistair was fun and approachable, he passed on a lot of information in a short period of time. It was well paced and included practical exercises that allowed me to consolidate my knowledge and skills.

What I would highlight:
In general it was a very good course.
What could be improved:
Perhaps a few more practical exercises were needed. A bit more on institutional collections/ archives research. A bit heavy on the editing / magazine end. Better balance with research will be helpful.

The tutor had a vast experience of the industry as it currently stands, and the classes were motivating, interesting and accessible. The course was well structured and covered all aspects of the practicalities required of a picture researcher. I really recommend it!
