Aims:

• Improve knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics of the lumbar spine and relate it to pathology and dysfunction.
• To identify the causes of lumbar instability and evaluate management programmes.
• To facilitate the development of clinical reasoning in the differentiation and management of low back and sacroiliac joint dysfunction.
• To develop advanced manual skills in assessment of neuromusculoskeletal dysfunction of the lumbar spine and pelvis.
• To update manual techniques and relate treatment and management programmes to pathology and biomechanics.
