Effectively communicate in Spanish both orally and in writing in the three areas of interpersonal communication, interpretative communication, and presentational communication.
Demonstrate understanding of spoken Spanish in a variety of registers and through different means of presentation.
Be familiar with major works, genres, theoretical concepts, historical periods in the broad spectrum of Spanish and Latin American literatures and cultural production.

Luso-Hispanic Studies Requirements
Major in Spanish: The major consists of a minimum of nine courses numbered 0300 or above. The requirements are as follows:
I. Eight courses from the 0300-0399 level.
A maximum of three courses from the 0300-0349 level may count towards the major (one must be taken before studying abroad)
At least five courses must be at the 0350 level or above..
At least two of these 0350 level or above courses must be taken at Middlebury College during the academic year ge campus during the academic year in the student’s senior year.
