Course programme

The MA Medieval Britain and Europe is designed to provide students with advanced tuition in their chosen field, and research training suitable for the effective completion of advanced research projects. It draws on the existing strengths of the department in the field of British history from the Norman Conquest to the Reformation. Students investigate medieval British history within a wider European context, and from a variety of thematic angles including political, cultural, economic, social and religious history. Students take a core module in semester 1 and an option module in semester 2 plus 60 credits of research training across both semesters in Part 1, and write a 20,000 word dissertation in Part 2. Students who complete Part 1 only are eligible for a Postgraduate Diploma.
