Course review:
Learn lots of different arts & crafts techniques, then put them all together to make a stunning little book for all your memories.
Day 1 - Silk Paper
Use raw silk fibres to create exquisite fabric paper. Learn how to handle the oh-so-soft gossamer coloured silk threads and form them into a picture. Add lace leaves, threads, tinsel and text to personalise your work.
Day 2 - Fantastic Plastic
A special meltable plastic provides today's fun. It comes in lots of shiny plain and patterned designs. Use a heat gun to melt pieces of the plastic and weld bits together to make badges, bangles and bugs, name plates and signs
Day 3 - Creation Station
Learn all sorts of techniques for use in your memory book. Experiment with collage, painting, drawing, transfers and stickers, hot embossing, and metalwork. Use stamps and cutters, ribbers and accent beads, ribbons, handmade papers and relief creams to make some small scale works of art to go in your memory book or to frame as you wish.
Day 4 - Putting It All Together
Start with an A5 hard backed ring bound book with plain pages. Cover your book with silk paper, decorate the front cover with fantastic plastic motifs and collage materials, and add tassels and fringes with beautiful threads and, if you like, stick in some of your art work to decorate the pages. If you have missed any of the other days don't worry. There will be lots of ready made things for you to use to create a plain book which you can use later as a scrap book.
