2. Course description This one-year programme provides further development in the Childcare and Health and Social Care sectors and is aimed at students who may want to work in this industry.The course is made up of a variety of smaller Level 2 qualifications which give students the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge needed when caring for children and/or vulnerable adults. It also aims to prepare students for employment in either sector and this course is an excellent stepping stone onto a full Level 2 qualification. Making Choices aims to build students confidence and prepare for a full Level 2 qualification in Childcare or Health and Social Care.Students will study a variety of units including caring for children and adults and preparing them for work:-Effective Skills Qualities and Attitudes for Learning and WorkCraft Activities for Young ChildrenYoung Childrens DevelopmentPrinciples of Diversity Equality and Inclusion in Health and Social Care SettingsUnderstand the Role of the Social Care WorkerStudents will also develop their own communication skills and self-awareness. This qualification is a credit based qualification and will provide a balance of English and Maths Personal and Social Development and appropriate Vocational Learning.

3. Entry requirements You will need to provide evidence of a Level 1 qualification ideally in the Health and Social/Childcare Sector. For school leavers it would be helpful to demonstrate evidence of previous successful study which could include a GCSE qualification at Grade E or above. You will also need to provide a satisfactory school/college reference and undertake a successful interview and initial assessments. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method This will be through a variety of tasks including the production of a portfolio of evidence in the form of posters leaflets booklets charts written reflections and assignments.You will also be assessed using a variety of assessment methods including observations witness testimonies and written reflections.
