The prime objective of the programme is to create 'a development experience' that adds value both personally and professionally for the rest of the delegates' careers. In effect, the programme creates a 'defining moment in time' that delegates careers, their contribution to the business, and the development of their personal effectiveness. The programme is a combination of work based action, theoretical input, experiential learning exercises, discussion groups and case studies with all the learning targeted to resolve pre-identified real work issues that the delegates are faced with.

PRESENTATION

Experience Management is a highly participative and intensive two module development programme. It is designed for managers who have either been in a junior to middle level role for at least three years and have received little ‘real’ management development or for individuals who are about to be promoted and breakthrough the leadership/management mid-point.

It is well known that, as we become hierarchically more senior in our job roles, there is often a fundamental shift in the skill sets required to be successful. This shift in essential skills sets is often overlooked.

In these transitional roles there is a fundamental need to manage the competing needs of coordinating output and work activity through control and discipline of business processes and the quest for operational excellence, with the need to engage with teams and individuals at a much deeper and emotional level, creating autonomy, freedom of thought and action, and the ‘want’ to strive towards a shared vision of the future.

This programme focuses on both traditional and contemporary leadership, self-development, and the need to engage with employees both intellectually and emotionally. It is highly action oriented towards making a value delivering difference in the workplace for delegates and their teams.

How does the programme work?

The programme consists of two modules that both run from midday Monday to midday Friday with pre work, interim module work and post programme work and evaluation.

The modules are held two months apart, during which time delegates receive online coaching as an integral and under-pinning part of the package.

After the second module, delegates receive an additional one month’s coaching to assist them in transferring the full value of the programme into the workplace. In addition they are encouraged and supported in establishing a ‘virtual coaching team’. This is achieved via the creation of a strong ‘cohort identity’ that is backed up by an exclusive Experience Management chat-room driven from the Odyssey Group web server. There is also a dedicated webZONE, with copies of slides and handout materials available on-line.

Are there real world benefits?

All delegates’ line managers receive a full briefing pack to assist them in understanding and supporting the process that delegates are going through. The pack also helps them to support the delegates, once they are back in the work place, to transfer and take maximum benefit from the programme.

Delivering ‘real world’ benefits through the commercial orientation of the programme and its unique support package this is a programme we believe to be unequalled in the market today.

And for afters!

Following completion of the programme delegates not only receive one months on-line coaching from the facilitators they will have permanent access to a dedicated Chat Room and will receive regular development prompting from The Odyssey Group. This helps to keep the programme ‘alive’ for the delegates and supports the line manager’s use of the support manual.
