The management engineer specializes in the design, organization and management of companies or sectors of companies and organizations. He differs from other engineering graduates because he has an in-depth knowledge of decision-making techniques and business strategies; it differs from graduates in economics because it has an in-depth knowledge of the modeling-quantitative approach to decision-making problems. The activity can be carried out as an employee of medium to large sized public and private companies and organizations or of business consultancy firms. Its activities may include: analyzing costs and performance of individual employees, work teams or departments, checking the quality and safety of business processes; manage innovative projects; plan and follow the restructuring of sectors or departments of the company; analyze the convenience of the various investment or financing possibilities of the company; analyze the company's procurement and outlet markets; design, plan and manage individual processes in organizations. A degree in management engineering and previous experience in the role are required.
