This module looks at the CIO/CTO ('information leader') and their role and how the information function works in organisations in both strategic and operational terms. It will also look at the CIO's team and how this is developed and your role in supporting it.

The aims of the module are to ground you in the various views of the role of an information leader in an organisation and how he or she interacts with other areas (e.g. finance, talent management).



The module will be delivered in block mode consisting of two blocks:

Thursday: 5pm - 9pm Friday: 9am-5pm Saturday: 9am-5pm The second block is delivered 6 weeks after the first block.

  • Introduction to IT governance, legal/regulatory issues and the role of policy and standards
  • Information as a source of competitive advantage: when IT does and doesn't matter.
