Managerial Economics and Strategy Degree Requirements

The following requirements are in addition to, or further elaborate upon, those requirements outlined in The Graduate School Policy Guide.

Master's

Doctoral students in Managerial Economics and Strategy who complete the first two years of doctoral coursework requirements with a B average and achieve an "MS Pass" on the department's written qualifying examination are eligible to receive the MS degree.

The field sequences normally include MECS 449-1,2; the other sequences may come from the Department of Economics or other departments at Kellogg. Total Units 24

Other PhD Degree Requirements
  • Examinations: preliminary written examinations based on first-year coursework; oral qualifying examination; candidacy achieved after preliminary exams, seminar papers, and qualifying examination
  • Research/Projects: two papers by end of second year
  • PhD Dissertation: original and significant research
  • Final Evaluations: oral defense of dissertation
