It will help care workers recognise and understand the causes, management and prevention of aggressive and challenging behaviour and help them to assess the risks that their actions have on the health of their clients whether that is in residential care or in their own homes in the private or public care sectors.

Successful completion of this course will enable candidate to:
- To gain an overview of the causes, management and prevention of challenging behaviour.
- Understand verbal and non verbal signs of aggression and challenging behaviour.
- To gain an understanding of why people become aggressive or display challenging behaviour.
- Consider the possibilities of predicting aggressive and challenging behaviour using the anxiety pyramid.
- Consider how good record keeping can assist in predicting aggressive behaviour in Dementia.
