You will learn to:
Recognise the different types of behaviour in children
Understand the various factors influencing a child’s behaviour
Encourage positive behaviour in children

Write and maintain suitable child management policies

Unit 3 – Encouraging Positive Behaviour in ChildrenThe following topics are covered: Using rewards.
Unit 4 – Guidelines for Dealing with Unwanted BehaviourThe following topics are covered: Setting boundaries; Policies; Sticking to rules; Tantrums; and Bribery.
Unit 5 – Responding to Unwanted BehaviourThe following topics are covered: Ignoring the behaviour; Distraction; and Play therapy.

Assessment:
You will be assessed on coursework which is detailed in the course materials. Most coursework consists of short paragraph answers to set questions, and a larger essay/case study assignment. Your work can be sent back to your course tutor by email or by post.
