Course programme

Year 1

How to take accurate body measurements; draft a trouser block to your own measurements; produce a pattern from the block; use efficient cutting techniques; apply a waistband; and cut and construct a sample garment to check the fit of the trousers.

All materials and tools will be provided. It is recommended that you have some experience of dressmaking before taking this class although it is not an essential requirement. At the end of the course you will receive a College certificate and can take your block and pattern away to use to construct garments in the fabric of your choice.

Additional information

There is no formal assessment, only exercises and tutor-led tasks.
