Manual Handling Awareness Course The Manual Handling Awareness Course is presented over 3 hours. Each course has a maximum of 12 students - the minimum being 8 students. It is aimed at all businesses that involve the moving or handling of any goods or objects in the work-place. Each participant is provided with a handout on "Back Care" for future reference. Successful applicants will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance valid for a period of one (1) year from the date of the completed course The syllabus includes -
>Understanding the Legal Responsibilities of Employers & Employees
>Understanding both the cause of back injury and the importance of efficient body movement
>Back injury prevention
>Understand the physical and mechanical effects of Manual Handling on the body
>Be capable of identifying and correcting unsafe / incorrect body posture during all
Manual Handling Operations
>Risk Assessment
