If you are an operative, required to move and handle objects by hand during the course of your work, this training imparted by Rightway will give you all the knowledge and tools you need.
With this Manual Handling Course you will learn to identify the origin of back pain by understanding the anatomy of the spine and choose the right handling technique to use!
During this training, accredited by the Institute of Training and Occupational Learning, we will illustrate all the risks that an incorrect handling technique could present, and we will subsequently explain and demonstrate which are the lifting techniques more proper to select in a range of circumstances.
Furthermore, using the HSE MAC tool, we will bring to fruition a risk assessment of manual handling and summarise the laws that apply to manual handling and how they are relevant in your everyday work!
At the end of your training you will obtain a certificate, usually valid for three years!

In his Master's Degree in Work and Wellbeing, Rob Woollen explored the relationship between "good work" and employee health -with a specialist interest in personal and organisational resilience. Passionate about providing strategies to enhance resilience that are both backed by evidence, and accessible to normal busy people, Rob speaks internationally on the subject at both professional and academic conferences. He continues his research as a lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health, and the Higher Education Academy.
Course programme
A manual handling course accredited by ITOL (Institute of Training and Occupational Learning) and delivered by an ITOL recognised trainer.
This course is mandatory for anybody who is required to move or handle objects during the course of their work.
On satisfactory completion of an assessed practical manual handling operation, a certificate will be issued. This is usually valid for three years but this will be determined by your own risk assessment.
