What's it all about?:
A third all of worker absence in the UK is due to incorrect moving and handling so it makes sense to learn how to perform moving and handling techniques without causing a hazard to yourself or other people. Our specialised risk assessment course will give you the theoretical and practical skills for safer moving and handling. We look at the risks involved, the legislation that applies and suitable available controls so you can review yours and others' work activities for the level of risk.

Progression:
This course gives you the skills required to protect yourselves from personal injury by using proper handling techniques.

Entry Requirements:
There are no specific entry requirements, however candidates should have an interest in the field of moving and handling or a requirement to undertake the workshop for their employer.

Duration: Half day Course Overview
What does the course involve?:

This specialised risk assessment course is a mix of theoretical and practical training. You examine the legal requirements, accident statistics, physiology, manual handling techniques and guidelines and manual handling assessment techniques.

When can I study?:
Various days, 9.00am - 1.00pm or 1.00pm - 5.00pm

Are there any exams?:
There is a workbook to complete throughout the course and a short test paper at the end of the course
