Manual Handling Train the Trainer: 3 Day

This course has been designed to give the delegates knowledge of the manual handling operations regulations SI 1992 NO 2793. To give the delegates the knowledge of how to avoid manual handling operations. To conduct risk assessments to ensure the risk of injury to delegates is sufficiently reduced. To enable the trainer to deliver in-house training to the workforce to ensure the risk of injury from manual handling operations is reduced or eliminated.

CONTENT: Day 1 - Legislation and regulations; Manual handling and health; Complying with the regulations; Risk Assessments for manual handling operations; Kinetic handling techniques; HSE guidance and practical demonstrations; Industrial techniques; Presentation skills. Day 2 - Theoretical risk assessment exercises; Practical risk assessment exercises (visiting a worksite where manual handling may have to be conducted); Preparing a presentation; Revision of the manual handling training package. Day 3 - Practical Demonstration of Presentation and Instruction; Delegate Presentations; Delegate Presentations of the Manual Handling Package; Delegate Theoretical and Practical Presentation of Kinetic Handling Techniques.

This course is a mixture of practical demonstrations / exercises and theoretical work. The course ends with a written test paper to assess knowledge and understanding. Succesful delegates are issued with an NSL certificate of training.

DETAILS: This course is currently delivered at one of NSL's training centres, but can be delivered at the client's premises.

PPE REQUIRED: Coveralls, hard hat, safety boots and gloves.
