What's it all about?:
If you†re motivated, creative, have a grasp of all aspects of manufacturing and can apply your knowledge in a range of different settings, then this is the course for you. It will give you an insight into the fascinating business of manufacturing and equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to keep the UK at the forefront of global manufacturing.

Progression:
Progression from this course is to any level 3 course, offered at the College, an Apprenticeship of directly into employment.

Entry Requirements:
In our experience in order to be successful on this level of course you will need one of the following:

• four GCSEs at grades D-F (including English and maths)
• a BTEC foundation diploma in a related subject
• an NVQ level 1/technical certificate in a related subject
• successful completion of the Jumpstart programme
• successful completion of the E2E/Prince†s Trust programme
• equivalent qualifications or relevant work experience.

Duration: One year Course Overview
What does the course involve?:

You will study the following:

• the various stages of product design
• the structure of a manufacturing business
• health and safety.

When can I study?:
Various days and times

Are there any exams?:
You will be assessed by a mixture of assignments and work-based projects. You will also be assessed in functional skills and personal learning and thinking skills.
