About this course
Standard entry to this course requires one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance. Four GCSEs in English, maths, a science based subject and one other subject at grade 4 (C) or above is required.
Consideration will be given to all applicants over the age of 19, who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications.

Course programme
Year 1
As a more vocational route for learners than traditional A levels, learners will be engaged in a range of specialist subjects aimed at learners who have decided to get hands-on, relevant, practical and applied theory in their training, whilst obtaining a level 3 qualification. In year one subjects studied include engineering design, mechanical principles, computer aided design, pneumatics and hydraulics, materials science, engineering mathematics, electrical principles, health and safety and business studies.
Year 2In year two learners will undertake a major project in which they will apply learning from other topics, further mechanical principles, programmable logic controllers, computer numerical control, circuit design and further mathematics.
