About this course

Delivered in partnership with Open Study College this course will provide students with the following knowledge:
Understand tectonic plates and continental drift
Explore the origins of life and the concept of evolution
Understand the chemical, physical and biological properties of seawater that make it capable of supporting life
Investigate how marine life has adapted to be able to cope with the different marine environments
Understand primary production and how it differs in the marine environment from on land
Gain an understanding of food chains and food webs
Recognise the damaging impact of humans in the recent past
Identify ways in which we can protect our oceans for the future

Students looking for an insight into Marine Biology.

Students looking to enrol onto this course should meet the following criteria:
Be aged 16 Years or above
Possess a solid knowledge of the english language
Have access to a PC and the internet for the duration of the whole course
Basic computer skills: e.g Word processing, emailing, uploading documents etc
Have a genuine desire to succeed

This course provides successful students with a fully recognised qualification from TQUK, listed on the RQF (Regulated Qualifications Framework).   • Understand Dilemmas & Public Concerns in Adult Health & Social Care
Assessment

Learners will be required to complete a series of tutor marked assignments ( normally 1 after each unit) as they progress through this course. Each assignment will contain a variety of tasks/questions. These assignments are assessed by your tutor to monitor progress. You will be provided with constructive feedback to help you in completing each unit to the required standard.

Students have a maximum of one year to complete. Course duration approx. 80 hours.
