Course programme
The course consists of twelve modules: eight taught modules, six of which are core, plus two options and a four-module marketing dissertation.
We currently have an extensive programme of research, some of which is at doctoral level, including strategic marketing issues in the local economy. All of our students benefit from the close relationship with several eminent research and visiting professors, all of whom contribute to our programme of lectures.
The research dissertation is an excellent opportunity to apply the critical principles learnt in the taught modules to developing comprehensive and strategically relevant research. You are supported in this exciting and challenging phase by a qualified supervisor and access to appropriate research personnel. You also take a research methods module.
Careers
This programme will provide an excellent basis for career opportunities in the marketing field. Previous students have progressed to work in roles such as Sales and Marketing Manager or Marketing Executive for a wide range of companies of all sizes across many sectors, both in the UK and overseas.
Teaching methods
We offer a varied programme of teaching that includes facilitated seminars, practical workshops, web-based learning, case study analysis and traditional lectures. We also provide sessions by visiting staff, practitioners and consultants to give a varied perspective of the topics covered.
You will be assessed through a variety of coursework including presentations, reports and projects. You will also be required to complete a dissertation and will be supported by a dissertation supervisor.
