What you will learn On successful completion of the module the student will be able to: Categorise the different types of mass fatality incidents and confront the different problems and procedures associated with each Describe the different government and NGO bodies involved in both national and international incidents and distinguish their responsibilities Recognise the different roles of individuals on the site of the incident, how they are controlled and what techniques each uses Recognise the need for sensitive handling of the relatives of victims, evaluate the stages of the grieving process and judge the correct ways of handling their needs Assess the suitability and effectiveness of different management protocols and devise improvements Accurately complete and reconcile Interpol standardized Ante-Mortem and Post-Mortem forms.

Upgrade to a professional qualification This short course will be taught at Masters standard as it is one of the modules that comprise the postgraduate Forensic Modular Masters Programme. Registering for this accredited short course and successfully passing the associated assessment will gain you 10 Cranfield credits. These could then be used to apply for a transfer towards a PgCert/PgDip or MSc in the Forensic Programme should you wish to complete one of these courses within 5 years.
