Massage NVQ Level 3 Course "Massage is a gentle and effective way of helping the body to heal itself." Over 2000 years ago Hippocrates said "rubbing can bind a joint that is too loose and loosen a joint that is too rigid." This is what is so amazing about massage - the same brisk movements that can induce an invigorated feeling can be softened and performed slowly to induce sleep. Massage has both physical and psychological benefits. This course has been designed to teach the student the more refined techniques of massage which are easy to learn. This course includes “hands on” based practical training. The first part of the course is the distance learning theory element which is completed in your own time and done entirely from the comfort of your own home. As you near the end of your theory training we will contact you to arrange booking you onto your practical training. The practical training is run regularly throughout the year. You can decide when you are going to attend and which one of our national network of training centres would be most convenient for you to attend. Practical Element (5 and a half days)

Practical Training will cover various aspects including demonstration, practical assessment and feedback of:

  • Provide body massage treatments - 2 day course
  • Provide indian head massage - 1 day course
  • Aromatherapy massage using pre-blended oils - 1 day course
  • Provide hot stone therapy treatments - 1 day course
  • Provide self tanning services - 1/2 day course

Study Hours

This is only an approximate figure and is dependant upon how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course material. Furthermore, at the end of each lesson there is a question paper that needs to be completed and returned to your tutor. You should allow at least 1 - 2 hours of study to complete each question paper.

The approximate amount of time required to complete the course is: 130 hrs.
