About this course
1. A bachelor degree from an accredited college or university or a comparable degree. 2. The equivalent of one years full-time teaching experience. 3. Completed a TESOL/TEFL certificate level course (or equivalent). 4. Non-native speakers of English must have a TOEFL score of 600 (IBT 100) or equivalent.

Working on MA in TESOL at the University of Central Lancashire
I am a caring, patient and enthusiastic young man who can communicate in 4 languages having graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University, with a degree in French and Spanish with German subsidiary. Over the past two years, I have been working as a teacher as an English Academy in Spain. I obtained a 2:1 at degree level in French. I have a 100% student pass rate at both Trinity and PET exams, and have prepared students in their build up to First Certificate. I am currently working on my MA in TESOL and Applied Linguistics at the University of Central Lancashire.

General Objectives:
1. Demonstrate a through grasp of the main phonological, lexical, syntactical and other aspects of modern communicative English, with particular reference to its roles as a means of communication.
2. Demonstrate a through grasp of the Englsih language and its origins.
3. Predict with reasonable accuracy the learning needs of any group of ESOL, ESL or ESP learners and to conduct a needs anaylsis in the light of observation and testing.
4. Write instructiional objectives and prepare approapriate lesson plans.
5. Discuss intelligently and extensive repertoire of lesson forms.
6. Monitor his/her own effectiveness as a TESOL and/or TEFL and reflect on his/her performance objectively.
7. Show a full undestanding of the first and second language acquisition theories, their stages and their influence on current methodologies, and an ability to integrate these throries in classroom practice.
8. Evaluate authentic and pedagogical mateirals critically.
