The Master of Demography (Advanced) is the only degree of its kind offered in Australia.The degree provides students with an opportunity to research population issues in Australia’s leading demography program. Students will experience research-led coursework, with a focus on applying learning to real-world scenarios. The degree will equip students with cutting-edge skills in demographic techniques, research and writing, culminating with a research thesis. Graduates will emerge with the skills to undertake demographic analysis and apply these to societal issues.The degree is available in-person, with many courses available online or in-person. Two features of the program are the scenario-based learning approach and access to leading researchers. Both in-person and online courses will have these two key features as central components of the student experience.

About this course

A Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 6.0/7.0, and the approval of an identified supervisor for the research project/thesis.

Students must have the written agreement of an identified supervisor in order to enrol in THES8103 Thesis in a specified semester one calendar year in advance of the start date of that semester aves the university or is on leave from the university, will be transferred to the Master of Demography.

Students must have the written agreement of an identified supervisor in order to enrol in THES8103 Thesis in a specified semester one calendar year in advance of the start date of that semester. Students who do not have the written agreement of an identified supervisor one calendar year in advance, or whose agreed supervisor either subsequently leaves the university or is on leave from the university, will be transferred to the Master of Demography.

Unless otherwise stated, a course used to satisfy the requirements of one list may not be double counted towards satisfying the requirements of another list.
