COURSE VIDEO Master of English Studies 2:46 The Master of English Studies is designed for research students from Australia and overseas, secondary school teachers and those interested in studying English literature at an advanced level. It focuses on four core approaches: critical reading, literary history, genre and literary comparison (including the question of English as a world literature).

Does a Shakespearean sonnet send shivers down your spine? Do you know your Austen from your Auden? Your Yeats from your Keats? Bring together contemporary critical theory with literary narratives and investigate how and why literature continues to enjoy particular resonance in the 21st century. Consider the ways in which the study of literature in English works in a specifically Australian cultural context.
